After a quick call with Adrian at Cureton Woods today, she offered to go take some photos of the progress on our house with her cell phone camera. They’ve begun framing the first floor! Framing usually takes about a week, then they move onto the roof and electrical work.
Some photos are below. You can keep tabs on progress here:

Today, Felicia and I signed a contract on our new house in the Atlanta area! We’ll be building a house in the Cureton Woods subdivision in the city of Austell, Georgia.
Clocking in at about 3,000 square feet (that’s big!), it’s the Riverbirch plan with the side entry garage. You can see videos here and pictures here.
We’d also like to thank our real estate agents, Donna Robinson and Kelly Campbell for their assistance during our search. We’re confident they’ll be a huge help to us while our house is being built. For anyone searching for homes, condos, or townhomes in the Atlanta area, they’re your people!
This evening, I spoke at Atlanta PHP on “Designing for Scalability” (slides coming soon!).
It was a great crowd with some great questions, and most notably, was my first public speaking in the PHP community. I’ll be aiming to do more of these things in the coming months, so you may see me out on the conference scene soon.
Thanks again to the group! Please don’t hesitate to email at any time.
